Michelle Story-Watson

 

Angela Michelle Story-Watson holds both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Violin Performance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she studied with Kevin Lawrence and Angel Stankov. She has additional graduate studies from the Boston Conservatory, where she was a student of Lynn Chang. She has served as concertmaster for both the UNCSA and Boston Conservatory symphonies, and performed as guest soloist for UNCSA’s 2009 Grand Symphony concert. Michelle has extensive teaching experience, including faculty positions at the Community School of the Arts in Knoxville TN, the Community Music Schools of UNCSA and Salem College, in Winston Salem NC, and was the graduate teaching assistant to Kevin Lawrence at UNCSA in 2008. Michelle is a member of the Winston Salem Symphony, the Carolina Chamber Symphony, has served as a substitute violinist for the New World Symphony Orchestra (Miami, FL), the Plymouth Philharmonic (Plymouth, MA) and performed for the 2008 50th Annual Grammy Awards (Los Angeles, CA).
